Services
I offer evaluations with children, adolescents and adults who may be experiencing challenges in daily living, academic or job performance, interpersonal relationships, and coping with stress or who may be wondering about perceived changes in functioning or learning differences. Findings are integrated and discussed in a way that considers the individual as a whole in the context of his/her present circumstances. Comprehensive evaluations are tailored to the needs and questions of each individual and will likely involve testing from two or more of the domains described below. This is the most effective way to fully understand the nuances and interactions between different areas of functioning that lead to success or distress in everyday life.
Neuropsychological
Neuropsychological assessment measures current level of functioning in a number of cognitive ability areas including intellectual, attention, processing speed, visual spatial analysis, learning and memory, language and communication, problem solving, and executive functioning. A neuropsychological assessment can help individuals better understand their pattern of strengths, challenges, and learning style.
Academic
These measures assess traditional academic areas including reading, writing, and mathematics. The aim of these assessments include identification of developmental learning problems or other issues that may be interfering with academic performance, as well as identifying areas of support for individualized education plans.
Psychological
The focus of psychological testing is on understanding symptoms of distress, emotional functioning, interpersonal and personality patterns, coping skills, and style of information processing. Findings are helpful in determining mental health diagnosis as well as informing treatment planning
Autism
Measures assessing for the presence of ASD including the ADOS-2 and ADI-R may be incorporated into a neuropsychological evaluation. I also offer ASD specific evaluations for those under 6 years of age and for those who have already completed a recent neuropsychological evaluation and are in need of this specific diagnostic information.
